Introduction
Welcome to this unforgettable trip!
Get ready for an exciting journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Serra do Mar, a region that enchants with its wild beauty and exuberant biodiversity. Located in the state of Paraná, this mountain range offers a unique experience, where imposing mountains meet lush tropical forests and crystal-clear rivers. This unforgettable itinerary includes visits to Morretes, Paranaguá and Lapa.
Located in the state of Paraná, according to IBGE estimates in 2018, its population was 16,366. It is strategically located in the physiographic zone of the coast of Paraná, extending from the slopes of the majestic Serra do Mar to the east. It is bordered to the west by the municipalities of São José dos Pinhais, Piraquara and Quatro Barras; to the north by Campina Grande do Sul; to the northeast by Antonina and Paranaguá Bay; to the east by Paranaguá; and to the south and southeast by Guaratuba. To the north and west, they are delineated by the peaks of Serras dos Órgãos, Graciosa, Marumbi and Farinha Seca. In the southeast, the Arraial River, at an altitude of around 800 meters, defines the municipality's boundary. The lagoons form the division with Antonina and Paranaguá. Morretes is also home to one of the most impressive peaks in Paraná: the imposing Pico do Marumbi, at an incredible 1539 meters high, which stands out as a distinctive natural landmark in the region.
Our trip to Morretes will also include a visit to Ekôa Park:
- Located in Morretes, on the coast of Paraná, Ekôa Park is a true ecological paradise set in the largest continuous area of Atlantic Forest. The park was conceived out of the crucial need to protect and preserve a 238-hectare reserve of Atlantic Forest. Unfortunately, areas protected by law but under private guardianship often face challenges such as irregular deforestation, invasions and other threats.
And we will also visit Hisgeopar:
- Hisgeopar Theme Park, a must-see destination for tourists and students interested in the history and geography of Paraná. With a moving model and detailed miniatures, the park offers a fascinating journey through the history of the state, from the times of the Indians and colonizers to the economic cycles, the construction of the railroad and technological developments up to the construction of the Itaipu dam.
Paranaguá
Paranaguá, a historic and touristic city located on the coast of the state of Paraná, Brazil, boasts the title of being the oldest city in Paraná, founded in 1648. With an estimated population of 157,378 according to IBGE data from 2018, Paranaguá is the tenth most populous municipality in Paraná.
In addition to its vital economic role, Paranaguá is a living testament to more than 400 years of history, bearing striking traces of Portuguese colonization, especially Azorean, in its population, architecture of historic houses, cobblestone streets and churches. Created by Law 5 on July 29, 1648, the municipality was installed on the same date, breaking away from the state of São Paulo.
Lapa
Located in the state of Paraná, it is 62 km from the state capital. With an area of approximately 2,000 km², it has a population of 45,003 inhabitants, according to the 2022 Census.
Historically, the exploitation of yerba mate and the activity of the muleteer were fundamental to the local economy. Today, the city has diversified its economic base, but tourism, highlighting the beauty of its Historical and Cultural Heritage, remains a strong feature. Originally called the parish of Santo Antônio da Lapa in 1797, it became Vila Nova do Príncipe in 1806, and was finally elevated to the category of city and renamed Lapa on March 7, 1872, dismembered from Vila Rio Negro.
Lapa is known for its rich historical, cultural and religious tourism, including the famous Monk's Cave, and stands out as the state's largest stone fruit producer. The city offers a satisfactory infrastructure in terms of basic sanitation, education, transportation, health and leisure.
Join us on this unique journey through the natural and cultural wonders of Paraná! From Morretes to Serra do Mar, from Paranaguá to Lapa, embark on a journey that delights the senses and feeds the soul. breakfast at the Paraná Encantado Theme Park - Hisgeopar. This park tells the story of the history and geography of the state of Paraná through various miniature models of some of the main buildings in Paraná's cities. From the time of the Indians to the end of Sete Quedas. The park shows how the colonization and development of Paraná took place in motorized structures that are up to 1,500 times smaller than the originals. The models are divided into various "phases" of Paraná's history, totaling 119 square meters of practically living history. The buildings and monuments were made from fiberglass, rubber, iron and recycled pet bottles, and have various automated mechanisms to demonstrate the evolution of Paraná's culture and economy.
After the visit we will head to Ekôa Park - Serra da Graciosa. In this park we will have a fun day discovering strategies, solutions and innovations inspired by nature. At the start of the activities at Ekôa, we will have a moment of awareness: with a 180º projection, a walk through the corridor of the senses and the arts boulevard. Next, we'll go on a Forest Trail, guided by biologists, where the students will learn about the curiosities of nature and the dynamics of the biome's interactions, through an investigative walk through the forest. This immersion in the forest trail aims to investigate, collect and understand the strategies and adaptations of living beings in the Atlantic Forest.
after lunch, we'll do the "Game of Life" activity: inspired by the principles of life, biomimetics (Biomimicry) is the science that observes phenomena and processes in nature, using their mechanisms to inspire solutions that benefit people's daily lives. Groups explore the park with maps and compasses, looking for lessons from nature, and collaboratively create a terrarium.
