Explore the wonders of Foz do Iguaçu, a captivating destination located in western Paraná, Brazil. With a strategic location 643 kilometres from the state capital, Curitiba, this municipality enchants with its vast territorial area of 617,701 km², 61,200 km² of which is devoted to the urban area, and a vibrant population of 285,415 inhabitants, according to the latest census.

Foz do Iguaçu is much more than just a tourist destination; it is a true paradise for travellers from all over the world. Recognised as the third most visited destination by foreign tourists in Brazil and the first in the southern region, Foz do Iguaçu is a treasure trove of unmissable attractions.

Prepare to be dazzled by the famous Iguaçu Falls, one of the Seven Wonders of Nature, which leave visitors in awe of their indescribable beauty. There you'll find the grandiose Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, the second largest in the world in terms of size and the first in terms of energy generation, recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Foz do Iguaçu is the heart of a trinational urban region, joining Ciudad del Este in Paraguay and Puerto Iguazú in Argentina, creating a unique multicultural atmosphere. The name "Iguazú" has indigenous origins and means "big water", reflecting the grandeur of the natural attractions of this stunning region.



Our journey will begin with a visit to the Bird Park, a natural sanctuary where you can marvel at the diversity of tropical wildlife, especially the colourful and exotic birds that inhabit the area.

Then we'll dive into the immensity of the Iguazu Falls in the National Park, where the power and beauty of the falls will leave you speechless. Walk along the panoramic trails and take in breathtaking views of the falls in all their magnitude.

After an immersive experience in nature, it's time to explore the culture and history of the region at the Wonders of the World Wax Museum, where you'll find detailed replicas of famous figures and emblematic monuments from around the world.

Next, we'll embark on a journey of discovery at the Itaipu Biological Refuge, an ecological sanctuary that is home to many of the region's native species of fauna and flora. Learn about conservation and environmental preservation efforts while marvelling at the diversity of wildlife.

We couldn't leave out the panoramic visit to the Itaipu Binational Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world. Admire the grandeur of this engineering feat and understand its impact on the region and on the supply of energy to millions of people.

And to round off this extraordinary journey, we'll visit the Three Borders Landmark, a place where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet, offering breathtaking views and a unique opportunity to contemplate the cultural and geographical diversity of this unique region.

Detailed Itinerary

day 1: 25 March (Monday) - Maringá - PR to Foz do Iguaçu - PR

pick-up at 10.30pm and departure at 11pm.

boarding point : check with the agency.


2nd day: 26th March (Tuesday) - Foz do Iguaçu - PR

After breakfast, a visit to the Bird Park, where we will have the opportunity to visit an ecological sanctuary with more than 800 tropical birds from around the world.

after lunch (Churrascaria Rafain) visit to the Iguassu National Park, where we will see the world-famous beauty of the 276 falls of the "Iguassu Falls".

check in at the hotel and off to the Wax Museum and Wonders of the World.

after the visit, dinner (pizzeria) and return to the hotel.


3rd day: 27th March (Wednesday) - Foz do Iguaçu - PR to Maringá - PR

After breakfast, visit the Itaipu Biological Refuge (RBV), which is a benchmark in fauna and flora conservation, especially for other companies in the electricity sector. The conservation unit covers an area of 1,780 hectares. Today, the RBV is part of and recognised as an outpost of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve (RBMA). The refuge also forms part of the Paraná River Biodiversity Corridor, which connects the Iguaçu National Park to the Itaipu protected areas and the Ilha Grande National Park. Much of the vegetation that is now forest was recomposed by Itaipu from areas of pasture and grass. The Roberto Ribas Lange Zoo, the main attraction on the RBV visitor route, is home to 189 animals of 52 species, including 15 reptiles and amphibians, 113 birds and 61 mammals. The animals come from Itaipu's own wild animal breeding centre, from other zoos or from environmental agencies such as the Environmental Police, IAT, Ibama and ICMBio.

after lunch, a panoramic tour of the Itaipu Binational Power Station. The tour starts at the Visitor Reception Centre with a film about Itaipu and then goes on by bus to see the hydroelectric power station up close. The tour passes by the spillway viewpoint and includes a stop at the central viewpoint, from where you have a wide view of the dam, which is approximately 8 km long and 170 metres high. the tour continues past the penstocks. Depending on the plant's operation, you may also pass over the dam, from where you have a breathtaking view: the Paraná River with Foz do Iguaçu in the background and, in the opposite direction, the 1,350 km² reservoir that supplies Itaipu.

after the tour, we'll head to the Three Borders Landmark (the meeting of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina).

at 17:00 we'll start the return journey to Maringá, with arrival scheduled for 23:30.

disembarkation will be at the same place as boarding.
