Experience the enchantment of birds at the Casa das Araras Zoo!
The Casa das Araras Zoo was designed to care for animals seized by environmental agencies such as IAT (Instituto Água e Terra) and IBAMA (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente). It is an interactive zoo focused on wild, native, exotic and domestic birds. Casa das Araras Zoo RECEIVES these birds, shelters, cares for and conserves species, including those at RISK OF EXTINCTION. In addition to these objectives, we also play the role of environmental educators.
Casa das Araras Zoo is open to receive STUDENTS, TEACHERS and other members of the Schools to offer a SPECIAL COMBO on "Environmental Education" focusing on BIRDS.
Environmental Education helps to teach us to value, respect and recognize the importance of nature for human beings, animals and the entire planet. Working on the theme of the environment in early childhood education prepares children to deal with the challenges of the future, climate change and, above all, the conservation and preservation of fauna and flora. Environmental education can be an extremely important tool for combating the illegal trade in wild animals.
Zoo das Araras proposal
Zoo Casa das Araras ' proposal is based on the principle of Environmental Education. They are based on the "VAR" of Environmental Education: See, Actand Respect. With these three words, something magical, meaningful and very real is contemplated about the main impacts caused by bird trafficking:
seeingaddresses the reality of what we have seen and observed about trafficking: 'you have to see it to believe it';
in Acting, we look at the different ways in which we can help to avoid the major environmental impacts that this activity causes;
respectingfauna and flora, turning us into good citizens and thus conserving and preserving the environment in which we live.
And how is this done?
With outdoor lectures in a playful way and with the expectation of generating this connection between "man" and "nature", in order to internalize the experience, added to See, Act and Respect. Subjects such as the biology of birds, their scientific names, habitats, types of food, curiosities and much more will be covered. All in a dynamic, playful way and with lots of interaction.

day 1: April 17 (Wednesday) - Day at Casa da Araras Zoo
departure at 7:30 am.

at the Zoo, we will be welcomed by the team of monitors and the biologist, who will carry out various activities with the students, including: a talk on Environmental Education with games and educational activities; contact with some birds and other animals; a visit to the immersion vivarium with various birds and reptiles.
at 12 noon, we'll have lunch at the Ody Park restaurant and the afternoon will be free in the indoor children's swimming pools.
return at 16:45.
